was with a group visiting the Ark and 4 couples decided to go to Eighteen at the Radisson. I’m from N KY so it was my suggestion and I was telling the group how wonderful dining was at this restaurant. I called to make reservations for 8 and was told there would be an $80.00 charge for this reservation. Ok, thus must be great. Arrived on-time and was greeted on the first floor by a young man hollering at my group, “ hey, ya going to eat here? Ya going up to eat?” Kinda not what I expected but hey, it’s a younger guy. Went to the 18th floor expecting to see a crowd, remember the $80 res fee, however maybe 6 tables were seated and no one was waiting. We were seated and after awhile we had all placed our choices for dinner. When the entrée was presented,WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! Most had either salmon / baked potato or steak / baked potato. Well, that is exactly everything that was on our plate. One piece of protein and a baked potato. No lemon for the salmon, no sprig of parsley as a garnishment, nothing else on these plates. Big white plates that looked naked. Come in. His about dressing the plate!!! Presentation was terrible and this restaurant billed itself as “fine dining”! Our entrée would have a tough time competing with Applebees or Chilies! Server came by and asked if we wanted dessert which each couple ordered 1 per, to share. Once again, some slices of cake were presented “standing” and some were “laying” on the plate. One lady asked if they had decaf coffee, the server said , as he was leaving the table, w/o turning back to us, over his right shoulder, “I DON’T KNOW”!! Fine dining??? Nope. Not here. This server brought a cluster of forks in his hand which he said, I’ll just leave these here, as he dropped them on the table from 10-12 inches high. FINE DINING?? I think not. Now the bill presentation. We notice a service fee and a place for the tip. One person questioned if the service fee was the tip. He was told, no, that goes to the dishwashers and back of the house employees, a tip is still expected. What was my $80.00 for, someone’s pocket?? Some tipped, some didn’t. At this point I just wanted to get out of there. What I had bragged as a wonderful dining experience ended being a total sham as it was not fine dining. I have tried at least 6 times to call the General Manager but he doesn’t take nor return my calls. I STRONGLY SUGGEST EVERYONE THAT WANTS A FINE DINING EXPERIENCE TO AVOID THIS RESTAURANT!! Terrible and disappointing evening.
